Throughout his career in finance and investments, Pete Briger has built a reputation as a highly capable leader and a dedicated professional. Among his other accomplishments, Pete Briger spent 15 years with Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he became a Partner in 1996.
During his tenure with Goldman Sachs, Pete Briger sat on a number of committees, including the Asian Management Committee, the Global Control and Compliance Committee, and the Japan Executive Committee. He also held a number of leadership roles at the firm, serving as the co-head of groups such as the Asian Real Estate Private Equity business, the Special Opportunities (Asia) Fund LLC, the Asian Distressed Debt business, the Fixed Income Principal Investments Group, and the Whole Loan Sales and Trading business.
Today, Peter Briger is a Principal and Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fortress Investment Group LLC, an investment management firm based in New York City. A member of the Management Committee at Fortress since joining the company in 2002, Pete Briger created and now oversees the Fortress Credit business. The team comprises more than 300 individuals and concentrates on undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments.
Aside from his work with Fortress, Peter Briger held a seat on the Board of Directors of the Princeton University Investment Company and has also supported the Central Park Conservancy, among other organizations. He possesses a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
